Oh, Lord
With me in Your mind, You shed the blood that should've been mine. The beat of Your heart fading as mine kept on beating. For it was Your life for mine. You saw more in me than I have ever seen in my whole life. And for this, I say thank You. You gave up Your life to see me live mine. - As You breathed Your last I'm reminded that each day You breathe life into my lungs. Your breath for mine. It's Your grace that allows me to breathe perfectly in sync with Your mercy today. - Your compassion for me never left Your mind. Your love for me moved You to the cross, and Your sweat of blood with tear-filled eyes endured the sin of life. Your tears for mine. For You awaited the day that I would seek Your face. The day I came to Your embrace. It was more important to You to carry the weight of my burdens and clean up my tear-stained face. - My broken love, wounded heart. Aching for affection and longing for acceptance. Scared of comittment to You. Yes, it was Your heart for mine. For Your heart could not just handle the bruises but heal the scars that I thought would never leave. You helped me move on from the pain that I could never ease. For You experienced a pain that was by far greater than any of mine. Yet, You made me Your world placing by Your heart in my hands. - For my eyes to acknowledge Your glory and my heart to admire Your beauty. For me to look upon You and to see you as You have always seen me. You laid down everything just to get my attention. You loved me before I knew You. Before I ever had one thought about You. You just wanted me to see that in You and with You I can truly be free. - For I know no love here on earth could ever come close to His. And for this, I now live my life for You. For tomorrow is coming. Sunday is coming. Your glory is coming. Lord, You are coming..again. — Celia McLean
Scripture to meditate on:
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.” 1 Peter 2:24-25 📖
